Introduction to ASTM B367-2019

Material Grades: According to the standard, we have several different grades of titanium and titanium alloy castings, each with its unique characteristics and applications:
Grade C-2: Non-alloy titanium, highest purity, widely used in chemical, aerospace, and medical fields.
Grade C-5: Titanium alloy (6% aluminum, 4% vanadium), high strength, corrosion resistance, commonly used in aerospace engine components.
Grade C-9: Titanium alloy (3% aluminum, 2.5% vanadium), with good welding performance, suitable for high-temperature environments.
Applications: Titanium and titanium alloy castings are widely used in aerospace, aerospace, chemical, medical and other fields. By adhering to ASTM B367 standards, you can ensure that the selected titanium and titanium alloy castings meet quality and performance requirements.
Key Control Processes:
According to the standard, the melting process of materials should conform to conventional reactive metal melting methods, such as consumable electrode, induction slag, plasma arc, induction furnace, and electron beam melting, etc.
The surface of the castings should undergo visual inspection to ensure no adherent mold material, oxides, cracks, and hot cracks.
